HMHT-302 Executive Officer
Major John A. Keldorph

Major Keldorph enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2000, attended recruit training at MCRD Parris Island, and MCT at Camp Geiger. In 2001, following combat training, he was sent to “A” school at NAS Pensacola for training in Avionics Common Core and I Level Avionics.  At the conclusion of “A” school he received orders to his “C” school at Keesler Air Force Base for GCAM.  Upon completion, in 2002, he was sent to MCAS New River, MAG-26, MALS-26, where he would serve as a calibration and repair technician until 2004. 

In the summer of 2004, Major Keldorph was selected to attend BOOST in Newport, RI.  Upon completion the following year, he entered MECEP, and began school at Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA.  After his freshman year of college Major Keldorph attended OCS.  Upon graduation and commissioning in 2009 he attended The Basic School and received orders back to Pensacola for flight training.

In March of 2011, Major Keldorph began fixed wing flight training at VT-2, followed by helicopter training at HT-8.  He was designated a Naval Aviator in 2012, and selected the CH-53E.  Prior to attending the RAG, he was sent to SERE school in Maine.  After completion of SERE, Major Keldorph was sent to HMHT-302 for qualification in the CH-53E.  Once qualified he joined HMH-464 in April of 2013.  Major Keldorph served in the Operations Department, served in the Maintenance Department as the AAMO, Maintenance Admin OIC, and Flight Equipment OIC.  After approximately a year in maintenance Major Keldorph went back to the Operations department for 6 months, then back to maintenance to serve as the Airframes OIC.  Major Keldorph attended WTI class 1-17 in the fall of 2016 and returned to the Condors to serve as the Future Operations Officer.  During early summer of 2017, Major Keldorph attached to VMM-162(REIN) to serve as the ACE CH-53E WTI on the 26 MEU.  Upon return from the MEU, Major Keldorph checked into HMHT-302 and served as the Assistant Operations Officer until he took over as the Executive Officer in December of 2019.

Major John A. Keldorph’s personal decorations include the Navy Commendation Medal, the Navy Achievement Medal, and Good Conduct Medal.
